DIY Christmas decoration with recycled materials.

 

 

This year, i've decided for Christmas decorations made from recycled materials.
I' ve got a lot of old magazines, a lot of pieces of wrapping paper and it was a pity throw so many materials away, so i'm filling my home with DIY Christmas decoration!
I've posted a tutorial of a very simple and nice Origami Christmas Star, i hope you enjoy it!

Guerilla Knitting in Monza

Guerilla Knitting is: "a form of street art that has been spreading across the globe over the last few years. Knitters and crocheters take their “matronly craft” to the streets covering urban objects with brightly coloured fuzzy goodness. Few objects are off limits and tree trunks, hydrants, mailboxes, park benches, public telephones, bicycles, public sculptures, and even cars and buses have been yarnstormed" (http://www.dailyartfixx.com/tag/guerilla-knitting/).
Here we are in Monza, and our knitters have got covered all symbols of a romantic, bright, poetic and sweet past.
The " Dolce Vita" was finished a long time ago, and now the only thing we can do is to look that part of our history and cultural heritage and hoping for change.
The writing on the 500's plate is "mi ritorni in mente" ( "you return in my mind"), so i hope the colors will come back soon.

Today has been here my sister's family, i spent a very beautiful day: when we are togheter, the time passes by quickly... thank you Margi!

Last week i worked on "La Drogheria" Fingerless Mittens, Nocciolina pin and different kinds of charms and necklaces for the shop...i've almost finished...i'm putting the finishing touches on my works before the opening day.

Why do the weekends always go soooo fast?
It is like time goes fast forward from the time you leave work until Monday morning.
...but i don't want to complain about this because, finally, i spent four days with my husband!...We have been to the park, colors colors everywhere!!!...and a wonderful smell of roasted chestnuts!
See, touch, taste, smell and hear: all five senses satisfied!
....oh yes, fall is for lovers!

So, Nocciolina pin has to change her summer wardrobe to fall and winter.
She's very busy: she left the tiny closet for warm woolen dresses...and a new pair of glasses!

I love crochet  and i love all the opportunities to discover little treasures in the vintage markets; so i've found an interesting way to blend my passions: this fingerless mittens!  They are both different from each others as things that you may find in a bric-à-brac shop.

This week I’m carrying my works to the sea and I’m wondering why people live in a village.

..maybe they were born there and haven't moved

..maybe they found the perfect life balance

Well, there’s a place really evocative, the house of a famous Denmark’s painter: Asger Jorn.

I love his art and his villa but I always thought he was mad to moved from Denmark to a small

village on the Ligurian coastline!

But now that I’m here, perhaps, I’m slowly changing my mind, I think the real answer is that

they prefer village life to any alternative… do they have reasons?...well, we can always try.
